An Energy-Efficient Collaboration
The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and Xcel Energy are collaborating on an effort to increase the use of wind power and reduce the use of traditional energy sources such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
Wind power has always been problematic because of the wind’s unpredictability. Wind can be affected by topography, temperature inversions, ground cover, and even the number of leaves on trees in the vicinity.
