Lieutenant Jen Salazar is a Meterology and Oceanography (METOC) Officer in the U.S. Navy, where she has spent much of her14-year career providing landside meteorology and forecasting support to ships at sea. Most recently, she served as an aid to Rear Admiral David Titley, the Commander for Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command. (He is currently the Oceanographer of the Navy.) Weatherwise recently caught up with Salazar at sea during her first assignment as the METOC officer onboard the amphibious assault ship the USS Bonhomme Richard.
