As a researcher with the United States Forest Service in New Hampshire, Dr. Kevin T. Smith spends a lot of time outside, contemplating the lives of trees as they grow and change through the shifting seasons. After earning his master's degree in botany and plant physiology at the University of New Hampshire, he received his Ph.D. in plant pathology and mycology at the University of Georgia.
