The Runaway Blimp
A 128-foot blimp took an unmanned detour from its 20-city promotional campaign in mid-August to visit a 94-year-old Ohio woman's backyard. Buffeted by strong winds during a storm, the blimp tore free from its moorings at Ohio State University Airport and drifted a couple of miles eastward before landing in a residential neighborhood. “It really is quite an occasion to have a blimp land in your yard,” said Lillian Bernhagen, when she saw the battered and deflated blimp draped across her backyard.
