California's Great Central Valley — Opulence on Earth
California is famous (and infamous) for a number of reasons, but fields of cash crops and seas of dense, low-lying fog banks probably don't make the top of most peoples' lists. California, of course, is more than one long strip of beach plied by movie crews and surfers; it is one of the most naturally diverse states in the union, built of everything from stark desert to wet coastal mountains.
