Richard Rotunno: Senior Scientist at UCAR

Richard Rotunno is a senior scientist at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). His work combines theory and numerical modeling to better understand mesoscale meteorological systems, such as tornadoes, squall lines, gust fronts, hurricanes, polar lows, mid-latitude cyclones and fronts, and sea breezes. He is the recipient of the American Meteorological Society's 2004 Jule G. Charney Award and the Banner I. Miller Award.
