Kerry Emanuel is a researcher and professor of atmospheric science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. World renowned for his work on the atmospheric physics of convective systems, Emanuel has led the field in research into the impacts of climate change on tropical storms and hurricanes. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed science papers and has testified before Congress on climate change. In recent years, he has become known in the public arena as a politically conservative and vocal proponent for increased awareness and understanding of climate change.
